How to use the NetWitness Data Wipe utility.

Resolution

The attached document contains instructions for downloading and installing the wipe utility onto the Linux-based appliances.

This will allow you to securely wipe the data volumes (/dev/sdc, /dev/sdd or other /dev/sdX block devices) created by the NetWitness system.

The wipe process does take potentially up to a week to complete.  After the systems are wiped you can transfer them as appropriate.
