What is the hard drive destruction process for RSA NetWitness NextGen appliances?

Introduction:

Security requirements for your organization may dictate that when a hard drive fails that the hard drive be physically destroyed as opposed to being returned to NetWitness. This solution details the process for hard drive destruction for NetWitness products under maintenance agreement.

Process:

In the event that you can not return a failed hard drive then NetWitness requires a signed Hard Drive Certificate of Destruction form which must be filled out completely for each hard drive that must be destroyed. You may then send the completed forms and associated documents back to NetWitness via any of the following methods:

Scan and upload the scanned copy to your Customer Care Portal case
Scan and attach to email sent to nwsupport@rsa.com and reference your Customer Care Portal case number
Mail to NETWITNESS Attn: Appliance Operations 10700 Parkridge Blvd. 6th Floor Reston, VA 20191
Fax to: 703-651-3126 Attn: Appliance Operations and reference your case number

Faceplates and PCB's need to be sent via mail to the address mentioned above, referencing your case number in the Customer Care Portal.

Notes

Dell does not accept the Hard Drive Certificate of Destruction, so this process cannot be used for any Dell appliances.

Customers do have the option of not returning the faulty part, but they will be charged the full cost of the part.
