Extra document required for return of faulty NetWitness appliance from Singapore
Issue
The Republic of Singapore imposes additional requirements when shipping equipment from Singapore. Please review this document, links and attachments for the additional information required when returning equipment from Singapore.In order to ship back the faulty appliance back to Unicom from Singapore, in addition to the Commercial Invoice (C.I) and Airway Bill provided by Unicom, an extra export permit issued by the Singapore Customs is required.
Tasks
For the customer to apply for an export permit, the following procedures has be followed:1) Customer's logistics department must complete the attached "End-User Statement" and send it to RSA Customer Support.
2) Send the completed "End-User Statement" document to Unicom and request that they print the "End-User Satement" on Unicom's letterhead and endorse it with their company stamp and signature.
3) Upon receiving the endorsed document from Unicom, send it to customer for them to apply for an export permit with Singapore Customs.
Notes
Quoting from Singapore Customs website:Under the Strategic Goods (Control) Act (SGCA) , a strategic goods permit is required to be obtained prior to every export, transhipment or bringing in transit of strategic goods .
