NetWitness Reporting Engine Warning Datasource is required

Issue

Creating a Reporting Engine Alert (UI > Reports > Manage > Alerts), fails with 'Datasource is required' after clicking on Create.

Cause

The issue occurs because no Data Source is added as NWDB Data Sources in Reporting Engine configuration.
For the Reporting Engine to run reports and alerts, it has to extract the data from a Data Source. 

Resolution

To add Data Source under Reporting Engine Config page:

1. Login to UI
2. Click on Admin
3. Click on Services 
4. Select Reporting Engine Service
5. Click on the GearBox under Actions Column
6. Press on View
7. Select Config
8. Click on Sources
9. Click on + and select Available Services
10. Select the Service and Press OK
