Summary
NW Platform contains remediation for a broken access control vulnerability that could be exploited by malicious users to gain unauthorized access and compromise the affected system.

Details
A moderate vulnerability has been identified in the RSA NetWitness Platform, affecting versions 12.5 and earlier. This vulnerability arises from broken access control mechanisms, allowing internal threat actors to impersonate users with active sessions, even after those users have had their access revoked by an administrator. Specifically, in versions prior to 12.5, an internal threat actor could exploit this flaw to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data, posing a significant security risk within the NetWitness environment.


Resolution
The following NetWitness Platform release contains resolutions to these vulnerabilities: NetWitness Platform version 12.5.1

NetWitness recommends all customers upgrade at the earliest opportunity.
