Red license warning banner is seen on a secondary RSA Security Analytics server

Issue

When logging into the user interface for a secondary Security Analytics server, the red warning banner below is seen.


The error message below is displayed in the banner.

Cause

Only the primary Security Analytics server can receive it's license from the RSA License Server.

The secondary server has a different MAC address than the primary server.  As a license can be bound to only one MAC address, the secondary Security Analytics server is unable to obtain the license.

As explained in the Security Analytics User Guide, secondary Security Analytics servers have the following limitations:

• The Updates column on the Hosts view is valid for the Primary SA exclusively. It reflects the wrong status for a secondary server so you must not click it.
• You cannot use the Health & Wellness views.
• You cannot use the trusted connections feature. (in other words, there is no puppet functionality.)

Resolution

This issue is being investigated by the Engineering team in order to provide a permanent resolution in a future release.

Notes

This error does not affect the functionality of the secondary Security Analytics server.
